Hummingbirds: Anna's Hummingbird (Calypte anna) and Allen's Hummingbird (Selasphorus sasin) are commonly seen at the sanctuary, but the one I've spotted the most is Anna's because it has a very distinctive squeaky call: "Zee-zee-zee, zee-zee-zee, zi-zi-zi." Occasionally one of them will hover a few feet above me, checking me out.

Ibis: It was a misty morning, so I could only get silhouettes. These birds are probably white-faced ibises (Plegadis chihi).

Killdeer, Charadrius vociferus, PLOVER FAMILY
This killdeer was by the side of the dirt path watching me. Then it made nesting motions. When I returned down the same path sometime later, it intercepted me and did a showy dance. That let me know I was probably close to its nest. AAAUGH! Sorry, sorry! I alerted the folks at the Audubon House about it.
